Company Evolution

 

On September 1rst, 1959, the company became a S.A. and extended its production to reach powers as high as 4 horses at 1500tr/mn. This new powerful production will serve to numerous applications for electrical motors allowing various needs for electrical machines constructors.  It will become the base for new creations of geared motors, electrical fans, electrical pumps, electrical mixers, and sirens.

 

During these years, joined the sons of Francois ODOUX to lead the company.

During the 60's, the company decided to work on repairs and/or re-built motors of small and medium powers at the same time, with manufacturing standard electrical motors, but leaving the activities of cutting rotor and stator sheets in order to keep up with the large production of small motors.

In 1964, FOX Motors resumed its research and development studies and production of its warning sirens for the National defense. CEN had already developed and produced warning sirens since 1926 under the direction of Mr. François Odoux. During the Second World War (1939-1945), the CENs had then produced outdoor warning sirens for passive defense in France.

Starting 1964, two types of sirens were studied and developed: MONICA sirens and PAKITA sirens. The MONICA sirens, named by Mr. François Odoux, were the first model to be launched on the market. The PAKITA sirens, whose name was chosen by Mr. Gérard M. Odoux, were the next model to be produced by Moteurs FOX. Their names were chosen and inspired by music, waltzes and classical ballets which the Odoux family admired (“Monica’s Waltz" and “Paquita Ballet"). The two types of sirens differ by their frequency. Monica sirens, which were more harmonic but less suited to the needs of the national alert, were later abandoned and only Pakita sirens were retained on the market. PAKITA sirens are currently available in our company.  

 

In 1968, to improve manufacturing quality, the company started to develop its skills in dynamic balancing of rotating pieces, rotors, fans, and others.

In January 1rst 1969, the company changed from SA to SARL.

 

Since then and throughout the 2000s up until today, the company has continued to pursue its vocation as a manufacturer, with projects currently underway that demonstrate its desire to serve both industry and the general public in the proper use of electric rotating machines. A new generation of electronic motors with the use of alternating current at variable frequency, intended for industry and the automobile industry, is born and is, with the help of research centers, very promising for the future. The electromagnetism progressing in the alternating currents better mastered, that we call, power electronics, evolves in many applications.
 

During these years, Francois ODOUX ‘s grandson, Gérard D. ODOUX, joined MOTEURS FOX and is now leading the company.

Amongst the studied projects particularly in research and innovation in acoustics, is the construction of PAKITA electromechanical sirens. These products, by their qualities of performance and robustness, have been chosen by the French government to be used in the National alert system of the all country (SAIP: Alert system and Information of Populations).

 

This position allowed the company “MOTEURS FOX” to strengthen the international market. Since 2013, Mr François Odoux's granddaughter, Mrs Christine Odoux has also joined the company to develop the international market of PAKITA sirens and to take care of the international communication, the international customer service and PAKITA website:
